Announcing Sherilyn Shackell at #AWAPAC!

Sherilyn is the Founder & CEO of The Marketing Academy, a unique non-profit organisation dedicated to the development of leadership talent in the world of marketing, media & advertising. She launched the Academy in the UK in 2010 and Australia in 2014 bringing together some of the world’s best known & popular brands to provide world class learning for young leaders to CMO’s through powerful, selective development programmes.

Sherilyn is also a Director of Plant for Peace and Trustee of its Foundation, an awe inspiring organisation bringing peace, food security and sustainable income to post conflict countries such as Afghanistan through the creation of horticultural cooperatives; planting pomegranates instead of poppies.

A highly popular and engaging speaker she’s also in demand as a business coach and you’ll often find her delivering leadership development programmes. When she gets the chance, she writes about talent engagement & development (a particular passion) and all things ‘leadership’  featuring in many articles in The Sunday Times, FastCo, Telegraph, AdNews, Marketing Week, AdWeek, Marketing Magazine, Management Today and CMO.com.

Her background includes 25 years spent as a Board level head-hunter before selling her company and served 8 years on the Global Board of IMD International Search Group. She is currently a Board Advisor to Grace Blue Executive Search CMO Practice.

To her constant surprise she’s frequently recognised for her work; she received the CIM Women in Marketing 'Special Award for Contribution to Marketing’, was inducted into the Courvoisier Future 500, invited to join the Marketing Group of Great Britain and was most recently identified as one of the UK’s Vision100 by Adobe and AdNews Top 50 list of most powerful influencers in Australia.

Despite a hectic working life and perhaps because of it, she’s happiest when at home in Berkshire, England with her husband and 3 daughters.
